Cooperation Campiagns with CantareiraThe aim of the campaigns promoted by RECANTA is to make people aware of the region’s main problems and educate them about them. In doing so we involve the biggest number of people possible in the work and in the positive impact actions that are in harmony with the forest biome. The campaigns’ main strategies are: Task Forces, Competitions, Workshops, Events, virtual campaigns, the distribution of educational material, newsletters and donations.
Examples of CAMPAIGNS ALREADY HELD:
“Cantareira te Quero Inteira” [Cantareira I Want You Alive] - Agaist North beltway' construction – Alternative Zero in Cantareira! WE’RE GOING TO COLLECT ONE MILLION SIGNATURES. Take part in the S.O.S. Cantareira virtual petition http://www.peticaopublica.com.br/?pi=P2010N3645.. Participate in the S.O.S Cantareira Movement!
Among the main actions of the Campaign are: Cultivating and planting native plants, encouraging the growing of vegetable gardens, task forces, the recovery of degraded forest areas and urban spaces that are little valued, the revitalization of public squares and the incubation of a group for generating income with forest services, thus also fostering the creation of a cooperative for forest sevices, the People of the Urban Forests Cooperative. |

The I am one of the People from the Urban Forests Campaign expresses the main cause of the Cantareira Cooperation Network, but only makes sense if it is expanded to reach out to other people, other countries and other states in such a way that we can fully express our mission, our driving force – which is preservation of Cantareira, a biosphere of the planet, the biggest metropolitan forest in the world. IN addition we want those who live there to recognize that they are People from the Urban Forests.
Cantareira invades the City Campaign. The objective of Cantareira invades the City is to encourage support for and a revaluing of a great forest in a great city, by promoting agrucultural and ecological activities, thereby reversing the logic that leads to disorderly urban occupation and deforestation and strengthening urban forestry actions.
